The Indiana Fever are gearing up to clash with the New York Liberty this Saturday in the Commissioner’s Cup, an exciting midseason competition within the WNBA.

Exciting news for the Fever comes as Caitlin Clark rejoins the team. She has been out since May 24, recovering from a quadriceps strain. Head coach Stephanie White mentioned on June 9 that Clark will be increasing her practice sessions, and by June 13, the team confirmed her return.

Meanwhile, the Liberty approach the game with an impressive nine-game winning streak. In their latest victory, an 85-66 triumph over the Chicago Sky on June 10, Sabrina Ionescu shone with 23 points and seven assists, while Breanna Stewart chipped in with 18 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.

Here’s what you need to know about the Fever-Liberty matchup on Saturday, June 14, including the start time and viewing options:

Caitlin Clark has made a stunning comeback, scoring 20 of her team’s 41 points in her first game back from a quad strain that kept her out for 18 days, missing five games in total.

With a pair of back-to-back three-pointers in the opening quarter, Clark reignited Indiana’s momentum, shrinking the Liberty’s lead to just two points.

As the match unfolds, the New York Liberty maintain a narrow lead of 26-24 against the Indiana Fever. Sabrina Ionescu leads the Liberty with seven points, and Nyara Sabally adds six more. Returning from her injury, Caitlin Clark has scored 14 points in the first quarter alone.

The showdown between the Indiana Fever and New York Liberty serves both as a regular season fixture and a Commissioner’s Cup contest, kicking off at 3 p.m. ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Reflecting on her injury, Clark suspects the strain developed during the May 24 loss to the Liberty, despite achieving a double-double with 18 points and 10 assists in that game. She only became aware of it as the game wore on, unable to pinpoint an exact moment it occurred.

“Obviously, adrenaline masks a lot when you’re in competition,” said Clark on Thursday. “Afterwards, there was pain, and an MRI confirmed what I hoped wasn’t true. But facts are facts.”

The Indiana Fever’s lineup against the New York Liberty includes Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, Natasha Howard, and Aliyah Boston.

For the Liberty, the starting five features Natasha Cloud, Sabrina Ionescu, Kennedy Burke, Breanna Stewart, and Nyara Sabally.
