Chris Brown, the renowned rapper, found himself in legal trouble after being apprehended early today at a luxurious hotel. The arrest came as a result of an alleged violent incident at a London nightclub. Met Police took the 36-year-old American musician into custody shortly after 2 a.m. at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester. The incident in question occurred at a venue in Hanover Square on February 19, 2023, when Brown was reportedly pictured at the club.

Authorities have charged Brown on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm on music producer Abe Diaw at the popular Tape nightclub in Mayfair, Central London, the same month. Arriving in Manchester on a private jet just the previous afternoon, Brown’s presence in the UK was first noticed by The Sun. Curiously, they inquired with the police about his arrest status, prompting detectives from Met Police to travel to Manchester. There, they detained Brown at The Lowry Hotel.

The complainant, Mr. Diaw, claims that the R&B icon launched an unprovoked attack in the early morning hours at the fashionable Tape nightclub. He alleges that Brown struck him on the head with a bottle multiple times before proceeding to punch and kick him while he was down. Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, Diaw stated, “He hit me over the head two or three times. My knee collapsed as well.” Following the purported assault, Mr. Diaw was hospitalized and required crutches for mobility upon his release.

This alleged attack coincided with Brown’s worldwide tour, which included scheduled performances in the UK. He is set to appear in 10 more shows across Britain next month. However, this police investigation poses a potential threat to the tour’s continuation. Mr. Diaw has initiated a civil lawsuit against Brown, seeking $16 million (£12 million) in damages for the injuries and losses he claims to have incurred from the attack.
