Residents of Central Ohio have already experienced two bouts of intense storms this week, and as Friday unfolds, a third round is set to impact the area. Currently, Guernsey, Knox, and Richland counties are under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning. Meanwhile, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch is active for counties including Coshocton, Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Hardin, Licking, Logan, Madison, and Union, lasting until 7 p.m.

Similar to the previous storms, this afternoon’s weather will primarily feature strong winds and hail. While minor flooding or an isolated tornado cannot be entirely discounted, these are not the main threats anticipated later today. Central Ohio remains under a level 2 out of 5 risk for severe weather, affecting much of the 10TV viewing area.

The storms will begin as scattered developments during the warm afternoon and evening. Initially, these showers and storms are expected to have a less severe risk. However, the more significant threat will arise with the second wave of storms, projected to advance through the region later this evening.

This second systems will likely form into a more organized and expansive plan that could produce widespread, damaging winds across Central Ohio after sundown. As this severe weather moves through, it could trigger large-scale thunderstorm warnings, so residents should stay vigilant and prepared to receive weather updates throughout the evening and during Friday night activities!”
