Texans’ wide receiver Tank Dell endured a devastating knee injury in December, sidelining him for the rest of the regular season, the playoffs, and potentially the entire 2025 season. Despite this setback, Texans’ coach DeMeco Ryans expressed optimism about Dell’s recovery journey.

Ryans shared that he frequently communicates with Dell, who maintains a positive outlook on his rehabilitation efforts.

“I’m in constant touch with Tank,” Ryans stated. “He’s doing fantastic and maintains high spirits during his recovery. His rehab is progressing remarkably well. It’s encouraging to see his continued improvement.”

When questioned about Dell’s anticipated return, Ryans mentioned it’s premature to set a definite timeline.

“The focus is on his steady improvement and approaching each day of rehab with the same positive mindset,” Ryans explained. “He’ll come back when he’s genuinely ready. There’s no hurry, and we don’t need him back by a specific date. What matters is that Tank returns when he’s fully prepared, and that’s satisfactory for us.”

To brace themselves for Dell’s potential year-long absence, the Texans have added seasoned wide receiver Christian Kirk this offseason and invested in second- and third-round draft picks for wide receivers. However, Dell is committed to making a comeback before the end of 2025.
