The stock markets in the United States will not be operating on Thursday, June 19, as part of the Juneteenth celebration. Both the Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange will pause operations for the day, resuming activities on Friday, June 20. Additionally, the U.S. bond market will also observe this closure on June 19, as confirmed by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association.

Juneteenth, often referred to as America’s Second Independence Day, has been acknowledged as a federal holiday since 2021. This recognition allows millions of Americans to take a paid day off and reflect on the historic abolition of slavery.
