Lucas Bergvall will not be part of the squad for tonight’s Europa League semi-final first leg against Bodø/Glimt, as explained by Ange Postecoglou. Despite signing a new contract with the Club earlier this week, the midfielder suffered a minor ankle injury during training and therefore won’t be playing in today’s match. Since joining from Djurgarden last summer, the Swedish international has adapted well to life in England, becoming a key player in recent months. At just 19 years old, Bergvall has already made 45 appearances this season.
“Unfortunately, Lucas sustained an injury during yesterday’s training,” Ange stated. “He tweaked his ankle and this rules him out of tonight’s game. It’s disappointing for him, especially as he has been exceptional for us this season. Understandably, he’s very disappointed to miss out, but these things happen.”
