Cornerback Jalen Ramsey might be on the brink of a significant change. According to NFL Media, Ramsey and the Dolphins have mutually agreed to look into trade possibilities as they approach the 2025 season.
Ramsey, who inked a three-year extension with the Dolphins prior to the 2024 season, remains locked in with the team until the 2028 campaign, though the bulk of his guaranteed money wraps up this year. His earnings, including salary and bonuses, are estimated at approximately $25 million for the upcoming season.
In the previous year, Ramsey was a constant presence on the field for the Dolphins, playing in every game. He tallied 60 tackles, snatched two interceptions, and secured a sack. However, for the first time since his rookie year, he wasn’t named to the Pro Bowl, and the last time he received such honors was during his stint with the Rams back in 2021.
The upcoming draft presents a potential chance to trade Ramsey in exchange for valuable draft picks, which might also reflect a strategic shift for the Dolphins. This comes on the heels of a disappointing season where they fell short of making it to the playoffs.
