Exciting news for Golden State Warriors fans: Jimmy Butler is poised to make his comeback in the pivotal Game 4 against the Houston Rockets on Monday night.
Butler had been sidelined for the last seven quarters of the series after a tough fall onto his tailbone during a rebound in the opening quarter of Game 2. Without him, the Warriors suffered a loss that night, yet managed to bounce back in Game 3 at home, securing a 2-1 lead in the series, thanks in large part to Steph Curry’s impressive 36-point performance.
Recognizing both the significance of this moment in the season and the trajectory of his career, Butler has been eager to return as quickly as possible from his severe glute injury.
His dedication paid off as he diligently trained before Game 3, progressing enough to receive clearance from Rick Celebrini, the team’s head medical authority, to play on Monday.
In Game 1, Butler logged 42 minutes. However, Warriors coach Steve Kerr is unsure if he’ll be capable of handling such a demanding load again so soon.
“I asked Rick about that today, and he wasn’t sure,” Kerr remarked. “He said it will depend on how Butler feels once he’s on the court.”
