Power Outages and More Storms Expected in Western Pennsylvania

Strong storms pummeled Western Pennsylvania Tuesday evening, unleashing fierce winds, heavy downpours, and a potential tornado threat. As a result, numerous residents remain without power. In Allegheny County alone, Duquesne Light reported outages affecting over 200,000 households.

Residents should brace for another wave of rain, lightning, and winds late Tuesday night. The storm activity is predicted to vacate the area by midnight. As we look forward to marathon weekend, scattered showers are forecast to return on Thursday and Friday, with thunderstorms potentially hitting Thursday evening. Towards the week’s end, showers are anticipated to persist into Saturday morning, ushering in cooler conditions just in time for the Pittsburgh Marathon.

Expect high temperatures in the 60s on Saturday and Sunday, with morning lows dipping into the 40s. Fortunately, Sunday should bring mostly sunny skies, providing a pleasant conclusion to the weekend.
