Randy Orton may find himself temporarily sidelined due to unexpected circumstances affecting his intended WrestleMania match, yet he remains one of WWE’s top attractions. Having graced the ring for over twenty years, the 45-year-old is still in peak form, is a reliable anchor for major storylines, and boasts a repertoire of potential dream matches yet to be realized.
Looking at the rest of 2025, Orton is poised for colossal showdowns with stars like Cody Rhodes and John Cena, ready to ignite at a moment’s notice. But how much longer can fans expect to see the 14-time world champion perform? According to Orton, retirement is not on the horizon anytime soon.
In a conversation with Raj Prashad of Complex, Orton revealed that he recently inked a five-year contract with WWE and shared his aspirations for the future. “I’d be thrilled to sign up for another five years when this one ends,” Orton declared. “I understand that there will come a time when I have to stop, but right now, that’s the furthest thing from my mind because I am having so damn much fun.”
Orton has hinted, albeit indirectly, at the possibility of wrestling until he turns 55, contingent on his fitness. For perspective, this is the current age of Triple H and just a year senior to Chris Jericho. While wrestling into one’s mid-50s is not unheard of—Sting recently concluded his career in his early 60s—it is common for even the greatest to eventually face their limits.
Despite a more methodical in-ring style compared to some of his younger peers, Orton continues to excel as a ring technician, an approach that perfectly suits his persona. His prowess on the microphone remains unmatched, and he effortlessly transitions between being a villain and a hero as storylines demand.
Known as “The Viper,” Orton is far from slowing down and appears dedicated to his wrestling career for the foreseeable future.
