In a bold move early Sunday, the United States launched attacks on three significant nuclear sites in Iran. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that the operation “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear pursuits. President Donald Trump, addressing the nation from the White House, warned that further strikes could follow unless Iran agrees to peace.

The operation, dubbed “Operation Midnight Hammer,” saw the deployment of over 125 aircraft. Some B-2 bombers, stationed over the Pacific, played the role of a “decoy” during the mission, as per US officials. Meanwhile, other B-2s unleashed over a dozen massive “bunker buster” bombs on Iran’s Fordow and Natanz facilities, complemented by Tomahawk missile strikes on a site in Isfahan.

Iran’s foreign minister lashed out at the US, accusing it of crossing a “very big red line” and expressing uncertainty about the remaining potential for diplomacy. Iranian leaders, however, are attempting to downplay the damage to their nuclear program. The world now waits for a response from Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Meanwhile, tensions continue to soar as this US strike coincides with the intensifying Israel-Iran conflict, now in its second week. Israel’s military reported that Iran had launched a new series of missile attacks towards their country.
