In a strategic move to strengthen their cornerback lineup, the Eagles have traded for Jakorian Bennett from the Raiders, sending Thomas Booker in exchange.
Bennett found himself surplus to requirements amidst a competitive cornerback lineup, which includes second-year standout Darien Porter, along with Eric Stokes and Decamerion Richardson.
Despite being the Raiders’ top corner in 10 matches last season, Bennett has faced challenges maintaining his health over two seasons, and The Athletic reported a decrease in his playing time following Pete Carroll’s arrival.
Meanwhile, Booker was active in all 17 regular-season games and participated in four postseason contests last year, starting in one of the early season games. This year, his role in Philadelphia was set as the fifth defensive tackle, trailing behind Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo, and fourth-round draft pick Ty Robinson.
